Pro boxing action set in Sibonga on Saturday

CEBU, Philippines - Two Cebu-based Thai ring gladiators will headline the 3rd Mayor Lionel E. Bacaltos Cup fight card presented by Naris and Wakee Promotions this Saturday night at the Bonifacio Bacaltos Memorial Sports Complex in the bustling southern municipality of Sibonga.

Marco Singwangcha will go up against Joash Aparecio of Cagayan de Oro City in a 10-round rumble under the super flyweight division topbilling the slambang show co-presented by the local government of Sibonga.

In the supporting main event also set for 10 rounds, Jestoni Singwangcha will slug it out with Alvin Maquiling, also of CDO, in a surefire super bantamweight battle.

The comebacking Marvin “Leyte Bomber” Tampus of Bato, Leyte and Rex Tito Singwangcha of Manila will take on separate foes in a pair of eight-rounder bouts.

Tampus will trade mitts with Aljon Salugaol of Cebu City in a bantamweight duel, while Singwangcha will tackle Jerome Bontog of Mandaue City’s Philippine-Australian Boxing Club in a flyweight collision.

In the preliminary matches, Elmer Pono of T I Yamagata Gym will clash with Reymond Fermin of Phil-Aust Boxing Club, while Jerome Casas of Leyte will lock up horns with Fermin’s stablemate in Jomar Torion.

Eleven exciting amateur bouts have been lineup to entertain the spectators before the explosive pro action. (THE FREEMAN)
