Losiaboi, De los Santos rule Dental Fun Run

CEBU, Philippines - As in the past races they've joined, Simon Losiaboi and Mary Grace de los Santos had a walk-in-the-park victories in the Cebu Doctors' University Alumni Association’s 2nd Dental Fun Run yesterday at the CDU grounds in Mandaue City.

The lack of preparation for the event was never a hindrance for Losiaboi as he managed to win the men’s 10-k division title in 32 minutes and 28.10 seconds.

Jess Gonzaga settled for second place in 32:28.33, while Junel Boncit landed third with a 32:41.50 clocking.

Riez Enriquez wound up fourth in 33:46.23, while Adonis Singson grabbed the fifth spot in 34:01.09.

De los Santos completed the women’s 10K action in 37:06.15. Mereeis Ramirez was a far second in 45:13.78, while Merlyn Alin placed third in with 46:37.68.

Completing the top five finishers were Mary Ann Benedicto (50:50.64) and Jane Ong (54:53.70) respectively.

In the 5K run, Joel Delposo survived a tough match against John Philip Duenas to grab the top sport with the time of 15:37.20. Duenas came in second in 15:38.92, while Alvirg Busa ended up third in 15:42.66.

Mary Joy Tabal snatched the women’s 5K crown in 18:27.72 followed by Joeyry Lee (19:51.89) and Crizel Diongson (20:32.17).

In the CDU Alumni 3K class, Emelie Wong emerged as the fastest among female runners with the time of 19:51.79. Louise Alforque occupied the second place in 23:48.05, while Jacqueline Lao was third in 23:58.01.

Dr. Adam Alviar topped the men's bracket in 19:57.02 followed by Dr. Hyun Yong Cuool in 25:55.53. (THE FREEMAN)
