Cebu to host regional taekwondo championships
CEBU, Philippines - The region’s promising jins brace for the 2010 Regional Taekwondo Championships set on July 18 at the Cebu City Sports Center.
Only members of affiliated clubs, gyms and school of the region that are in good standing with the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA) are qualified to join the competition.
The tournament features three divisions:seniors, juniors and children spread into different weight classes and age brackets.
Each division will have the novice and advance classification. Novice is for yellow and blue belters, while advance is for red, brown and black belters.
A player must be a yellow belter to compete in the PTA-organized event.
Registration is pegged at P350. The winners will automatically represent the region to the National Taekwondo Championships in the first week of August at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Vito Cruz, Manila .
