CEBU, Philippines - Just when everyone thought she’s done racing with the boys and resort to a more ‘girlie’ sport, Kalyka “Kali” Carcel broke her silence with a double victory in the prestigious 2010 Asian Karting Open Championship (AKOC) at the Carmona Race Track in Cavite the other day.
Kali Carcel will open her first day of class today as a first year high school student at Paref-Southcrest sharing with her friends as well as new classmates and teachers her triumph in two action—the Yamaha Cup and KT Formula SL.
The long wait to get the highest place in the podium in Manila finally came to Kali spiced up with her best time of 48.2 seconds in a lap.
Of the two titles she won, the Yamaha Cup was more exciting for Kali as it was not only her who made it to the podium, but also her brother Tonyo.
The 12 year-old Kali ended her bid with a total time of 17:44.081 while Tonyo posted 17:45.814 for a 1-2 finish for the two young endorsers of Island Souvenirs’ I Love Cebu campaign.
Tonyo also landed fourth in the KF3 division. (FREEMAN NEWS)
