Echavez sizzles in Danao City triathlon
CEBU, Philippines - RP triathlete Lorhiz Echavez led the cast of entries in the Danao City Triathlon at the Danao City fishport early today.
This will serve as Echavez’s “comeback” race in Cebu since her successful debut in an international competition in Subic last month.
Echavez’s boyfriend and training buddy, Mendel Lopez, is also set to compete, but only in the relay category.
Over 30 triathletes are expected to join the competition that features one–kilometer swim, 30km bike and 7.5-km run, a race length patterned after that of the National Age-Group Triathlon Series.
On-site registration is allowed an hour before the race.
Snacks, race jerseys and free transportation from Jollibee-Norkis on race day are included in the registration fee.
Cash prizes and medals await the winners of the event, which is among the highlights of Danao City’s Charter Day celebration. (FREEMAN NEWS)
