CEBU, Philippines - Cebu’s up and coming triathletes will once again plunge into action via the Danao City Triathlon this Sunday at the Danao City fishport.
The three-in-one event, which is among the highlights of Danao’s Charter Day celebration, features five-kilometer swim, 30km bike and 7.5km run, a race length patterned after that of the National Age-group Triathlon Series.
Organizers decided to use the NAGT measurement instead of the Olympic and sprint distances due to the prodding of newcomers and intermediate triathletes.
Aside from the individual race in the men and women’s divisions, there will also be a relay competition.
Registration fee is pegged at P300. Entry forms are available at the Danao City Sports Commission office, Philippine Sports Commission-7 at the Cebu City Sports Center and at Speedo outlets in Ayala Center-Cebu or SM.
Onsite registration is allowed, but they must be at the venue an hour before the race.
The champion in the men and women’s open will pocket P3,000 each, while the second and third will get P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.
Age-group winners will receive medals and certificates., while a special prize from Rudy Project awaits the winner in the all-Danao category. (FREEMAN NEWS)
