Semifinals in Estaca women's volleyball set today

CEBU, Philippines - Team Froilan will clash with the Warriors in the crossover semifinals of the 1st Estaca Women’s Volleyball Open today in Brgy. Estaca, Compostela.

Team Froilan is spearheaded by former RP Youth member Genie Sabas and RP beach volley team member Jusabelle Brillo along with former Nestea Fit Beach Volley champs Apple Eve Saraum and Erika Camille Verano.

In the other semifinal match, Roble Shipping Lines will go up against its elimination round tormentor University of San Carlos .          

Roble Shipping Lines will be powered by Mechelle Matuguina, Cheche Bohol and Southwestern University stalwarts Raphril Aguilar, Lorie May Layno and Mary Luilyn Pacinio and USJ-R’s Abegail Praca.

USC, on the other hand, will bank on its mainstays Methosheena Bate, Jerymie Montalvo, Niña Irish Cortes, Suzette Panis and Akemi Aono.

The winners will then slug it out for the championship in the afternoon.

The champion will pocket P5,000, while second to fourth will take home P3,000, P2,000 and P1,000, respectively.

Organized by Purok Mahogany Youth Organization in association with the Cebu Volleyball Association (CEVA) and Sunsport, the event is among the highlights of the annual fiesta of Brgy. Estaca in honor of the Holy Trinity. (FREEMAN NEWS)
