CEBU, Philippines - After the scientific coaching seminar a few months ago comes the Sports Science Initiatives (SSI) Sports Science seminar series-Cebu leg on May 28 to 29 at the University of San Carlos-South Campus here.
The success of its initial seminar in Manila encouraged organizers to hold another one in another place.
To be handled by some of the country’s most sought-after specialists in the field of sports science, the seminar here will tackle sports strength and conditioning, injury management, nutrition and psychology.
Well-known orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Jose Raul Canlas, will be the resource speaker for sports injury while sports nutrition will be handled by Sanirose Orbeta and sports psychology by Dr. Julian Montano.
Cebu’s very own, Pio Solon along with Hercules Callanta will tackle strength and conditioning topics.
Niño Sinco of the organizing LAN Sports & Events Inc., will also deliver a talk on fluid guidelines for performance while Toti Ocampo and Lito Cinco, who both conduct team building workshops will also dwell on related topics under Sports Psychology.
The event is sponsored by Phiten Philippines, TechnoGym, Gatorade, ASICS, Mueller, Hi Smart, endorsed by the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) & hosted by the USC PE Department is open for everyone from coaches, Physical Educators, students, athletes and other sports enthusiasts.
Registration fee is pegged at P1,000 and this also covers lunch and will entitle the participant to a certificate of participation.
