Apas upends Mambaling in dance competition

CEBU, Philippines - Apas overshadowed Mambaling after hauling two golds, one silver and two bronzes in the 10th leg of the Go Ching Hai-Martina Cup and M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala Cup–Season II dance competition at the Zapatera Elementary School gym.

Apas collected its golds from Crispin Sato and Maria Luiza Delda in the standard juvenile and John Philip Fantoniala and Mae Paracuelles in the juniors division.

Even if its swept the standard youth open, Mambaling fell apart after ending its bid with only one gold, three silvers and two bronzes.

Shardie Baydal and Disiree Matas prevented Mambaling from a gold medal blackout after lording it over in the standard youth.

The rest of the medals were taken by Mambaling, with Giovannie Carlos and Wendlyn Jane Estenor claiming the silver and Jon Moaurice Bahena and Niza Zanoria finishing with bronze.

Ramos ended its campaign with an even 1-1-1 medal count. Roy Cabanlit and Hanzel Ann Jumamoy topped the latin youth open to hand over Ramos’ lone gold.

Pasil also won gold through the efforts of Ralph Vincent Elarcosa and Ianah Page Silud in the latin juvenile class, in the same way with Buhisan through its latin junior bets Rheniel and Katrina Jabonero.

In the closed competition, Gyle Diluvio and Kim Capangpangan of Ramos got two golds in the juvenile division. Jefrey Yape and Hanzel Ann Jumamoy reigned supreme in the youth class, while Gerald Llanos and Goldie Sumayang shone brightly in the junior level.

In the hip-hop event, Zapatera Night High School bagged the top honors.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
