Mawin's Kitchen, Emilmich now 2-0 in JS caging

CEBU, Philippines - The Mawin’s Kitchen of team owners Sherwin Lequit and Maia Adriatico and the Emilmich of Emily Badon dumped separate rivals to share the lead with similar 2-0 records in the JS Contractor’s Cup 2010 summer basketball tournament at the Don Vicente Sotto Memorial Gym in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city.

Mawin’s Kitchen had a lackluster showing in the first half, but slowly gained confidence in the third quarter where they poured in a sizzling 24-8 rally to post a 10-point lead, 52-42, en route to a 70-61 decision against the Panthers.

 Emilmich, on the other hand, hacked out a 58-52 upset over the much-favored Victor Village Residence Association (VVRA).

Mat Vallejo and Egin Taborada topped Mawin’s Kitchen with 22 and 16 points, respectively, while Jun Llenes led Emilmich with 17 points.

In the other game, Jacpat Shee pinned down the listless Cab’s Net, 62-55, for its first win in two starts.
