21 Cebu City delegates suffer LBM, but still win games

-

DANAO CITY , Philippines  – Some 21 delegates of Cebu City currently seeing action in the 2010 CVIRAA Meet suffered LBM (loose bowel movement) but were still able to deliver the goods in their respective games yesterday.

The Freeman learned that 11 football players mainly from Paref-Springdale of coach Mario Ceniza, four elementary volleybelles, some baseball players and a few personnel suffered LBM but the medical team of Cebu City gave them oral medication and all are now well.

Those who got bum stomachs suspected that it was the food they eat during dinner last Thursday that got them down.

Liberato Laurenilla of Lola Mary’s catering which was tapped by the Cebu City government to feed some of its delegates said the food served the other night included meat balls, rice, and a pork soup recipe and chocolate for dessert.

After dinner, some athletes reportedly suffered stomach ache and an LBM the following day.

Laurenilla, however, said that the athletes might have eaten something else as only a few suffered LBM.

“Ako assessment ani, naa silay nakaon lain.Dapat 80 to 90 percent unta sa nangaon nagka LBM unta, pero wala man. Pila ra man sila? By team pa jud,” Laurenilla said.

Cebu City Schools Division Superintendent Rhea Mar Angtud, for her part, said that the suspected food served the other night caused the incident is not conclusive.

“It’s unconclusive. Not all are having LBM.And we’re all okay now,”Angtud said. But to be safe, coach Ceniza said they will no longer eat the food served by the caterer of Cebu City contingent. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol   (FREEMAN NEWS)
