Team JKT, Jonadel's Kitchen set up title duel in Abella hoop
CEBU, Philippines - Team JKT handily dismantled DHAGZ, 106-83, to advance into the finals undefeated in eight games in the Norvic Abella Cup basketball tournament at the Labangon covered court.
JKT, thus, set up a titular showdown with Jonadel’s Kitchen, which claimed the other championship berth after trouncing RCAF, 93-84. The winner-take-all finale is slated this Friday.
Trailing by eight in the early goings, 19-27, the JKT mainstays whipped up a furious 46-12 storm in the second period to rip the game apart, 65-39, and send DHAGZ wobbling the rest of the way.
Opong Zafra and Jojo Bagares topped JKT’s scoring chart with 39 points combined.
Elmer Alibawan paced DHAGZ with 29 points followed by Dicksim Kintanar with 17 markers.
William Caster, on the other hand, fired a game-high 31 points for Jonadel’s, while Roy Lansang and Tining Ceros chipped in 16 apiece.
