Three sporting events to beef up 56th Don Bosco Founder's Day

CEBU, Philippines - The 56th Don Bosco Founder’s Day will be spiced up with three sporting events beginning on January 15 at the Don Bosco Technology Center in Brgy. Punta Princesa, this city. These are football, volleyball and basketball.

Football will have a festival-type, 7-a-side competition plus the 11-a-side and futsal or indoor football.

The 7-a-side will feature 10 categories, eight for boys and two for the all-female action (girls 17 and ladies open). The age brackets under the boys class are the 8, 10, 12, 14 and 17-under, men’s open and 38-above.

Coach Glenn Ramos said they invited several out-of-town teams to take part in the tournament but have yet to receive their confirmation.

The deadline for the submission of entries in the 7-a-side will be on January 12, which coincides with the coaches and managers meeting. Registration for the 11-a-side ends on January 18 and for futsal January 25.The 11-a-side will be contested on January 18 to 21. Competition will be under the youth 12, ladies and men’s open. All games will be played at night for this event.

Futsal, on the other hand, will take place on January 26 to 30.
