CEBU, Philippines - The year-opening tournament for local cyclists, the Cebu RECYCLE-Luzvimin-USA Cycling Series, will kick off its eight edition on January 23 at the north reclamation area.
Also known as ‘Tour Ni Frank’ in reverence to the man behind the event Frank Gatdula, the forthcoming tilt will feature the criterium and road race.
The criterium will be done at the north reclamation area, while the road race will be contested the following day from Toledo to Transcentral Highway and ending in Buak.
This time around though, only class B and C riders are allowed to join.
The organizers have also specified that ex-pro and former national team members are barred from the competition.
Cash prizes, trophies and medals are up for grabs for the winners plus a yellow jersey for the overall champion.
The deadline for registration is on January 22. Entry fee is pegged at P150 inclusive of a free snack after the race.
Exciting freebies will also be raffled off for the participants. (THE FREEMAN)
