Second Talisay Run fires off this am

-

CEBU, Philippines - The 2nd Talisay Run 12K Year-End Chase rolls off at 5:30 this morning starting and ending at the city hall grounds. The race is organized by the Kabangis Runners of Talisay in cooperation with the Talisay City Sports Commission and Task Force Alpha.

One side of the south coastal road from barangay Lawaan up to the unfinished fish port in barangay Tangke will be closed to traffic to ensure the safety of the participants.

Three categories will be contested: 12K open for men and women; 5K open for men and women; and 3K open for boys and girls, 12 years old and under.

An added feature this year is the 5K open for working men and women of the media, a group that has shown interest in participating aside from covering running events.

In addition to trophies, cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers of each category, with the fourth and fifth placers to receive gift items. This year's edition is principally sponsored by Serge Osmeña and Chiz Escudero.

For the convenience of the participants coming from Cebu City, a bus will be positioned at the Cebu City sports center to ferry them at 4:30 am.

The major sponsors are Pimentel Customs Brokerage, RL&S Forwarders, Conching Food Industries, JPV Emission Testing Center, HLO Drug Testing Center, Pasajero Motors Corp., Bosoog Restaurant, Mike Jo and Jacobos Restaurant. Minor sponsors are Int’l Pharmaceuticals Inc., Golden Nutritious Foods, Kraft Phil., Cemex, Vicky Marketing, Mega Box and Unilever.
