JKT pads win streak to six in Abella caging
Team JKT of team owner Jubilee Dionson extended its winning streak to six with a 91-84 bashing of the previously undefeated Jonadel’s Inn & Suites in the Norvic Abella Cup 2009 Christmas basketball tournament at the Labangon open court.
Harris Vergara and Opong Zafra combined for JKT’s final seven points as they held Jonadel’s scoreless since an 84-all deadlock with only 1:20 left to play.
Jonadel’s led in the first period, 25-19, but JKT rallied back with savvy to wrest the driver’s seat at halftime, 43-41.
Vergara topscored for JKT with 18 points, while Tinonjg Ceros churned out 33 points for Jonadel’s Suites, which suffered its only first loss in seven games.
In the other game, the Red squad of Joseph Vasquez and Ariel Mosqueda spanked Hardcore, 84-74, to improve its win-loss record to 3-4.
Junel Navaja topped Red ith 24 points, while Inggoy Violango topscored for Hardcore with 20 markers.
