CEBU, Philippines - Team JKT of Jubilee Dionson stretched its unbeaten streak to five with a 105-93 shellacking of RCAF in the Norvic Abella Cup 2009 Christmas Basketball Tournament at the Labangon Sports Complex.
The deadly one-two punch of Harris Vergara and Rene Caguindangan was unstoppable as JKT mauled RACF at will to post an eye-popping 30-poiont lead, 84-54, going into the final period. JKT also led by a mile, 33-19, at the end of the first quarter.
Jojo Bagares and Jessie Aguilon later join the scoring fray as JKT coasted to a 12-point victory with relative ease.
Vergara and Bagares paced JKT with 24 points, while Jong Wilbur exploded with 30 points for RCAF, which suffered its only second loss in seven starts.
Earlier, DHAGZ ran over Hardcore, 89-78, to improved its win-loss record to 4-3 while dropping its foe to 1-5.
Dicksim Kintanar powered DHAGZ with 27 points, while Daks Dongon and Darex Pilarca each scored 14. Felix Atillo donated 12 markers.
Inggoy Violango topped Hardcore with 24 points.
