All set for Fastball Baseball For Kids

- Caecent No-ot Magsumbol -

CEBU, Philippines - It’s all systems go for the First Fastball Baseball Cup For Kids tomorrow at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Brgy. Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Presented by Alaska Milk Corporation, the event features three divisions:T-ball for players aged five to eight years old, Little League (9-12) and Juniors (13-16).

Each division has four teams vying for top honors.

What makes the tournament more exciting is that it will be a battle of players from well-to-do families against those not-so-blessed kids.

“This just goes to show that Fastball is giving equal opportunities to all kids coming from affluent to non-privileged schools,” said Fastball bigwig Jesse Bernad.

Teams Fastball 1 and 2, H & B of the Bacarisas Baseball Clan, and TIMZ of Tisa comprised the T-ball class.

The entries in the Little League are Fastball, Punta Princesa Elementary School, Labangon Elementary School and Canduman Elementary School of Mandaue, while the competitors in the juniors category are the combined forces of Fastball and Abellana National School, Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology, Canduman National High School and Liloan National High School.

The competition follows a double round robin format.   (FREEMAN NEWS)
