CEBU, Philippines - The Siso siblings had a great Family Day yesterday as they handed to their mom a title each at the close of the 2009 Thirsty Cup Tennis tournament at Casino Español de Cebu tennis courts yesterday.
Sally Mae Siso clobbered her teammate at the University of San Carlos (USC) in Cheska Tabotabo, 6-2, 6-0 to bag the championship in the girls 16-under category.
Not to be outdone, Sally Mae’s older sister Sallydine likewise pulled off a convincing 6-4, 6-3 victory over Kristel Mae Buenacosa in the girls 18-under final.
Niño completed the golden treble by the Siso siblings by crushing Jestoni Espinosa in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2 to reign supreme in the boys 18-under class.
John Jeffrey Seno, on the other hand, came up with a hard-earned victory over the equally-tough Arthur Craig Pantino, 2-6,7-5 (6-4) in the mixed 10-under class.
Christopher Encarnacion, for his part, ran away with a 6-3, 6-0 whacking of Jermaine Laurel to rule the boys 12-under division. In the distaff side, Clarissa Mae Fuentes eged out Jana Pages, 6-3, 6-0.
In the boys 14-under, Francis Parangan smashed Mark Norman Enriquez, 6-0, 6-2, while in the boys 16 bracket, Franklin Encarnacion spanked Dan Alfred Cinco, 7-5, 6-0 to take home the crown. - THE FREEMAN
