CEBU, Philippines - The newly-formed DTT Events and Promotions Inc. formally launched its maiden undertaking, a pro boxing extravaganza billed as “Rapid Fire....Binukbokay!” set on January 23 next year at the Tabunok Sports Complex.
Branding themselves as the “Dynamic Talisay Triumvirate”, the DTT Promotions founded by Milbert “Dax” Dacayana, international boxing referee/judge Teddy Alivio and businessman Tom Buño is an aggrupation of highly energetic and sports-minded young professionals who are craving to promote the sport of boxing.
Counting the support of the Talisay City Amateur Boxing Association (TACABA), their ultimate goal is to head-hunt for potential ring stars and mold another world champion from Talisay in the future.
“Our main goal is to produce another world champion from Talisay,” said Alivio during a news conference yesterday at Red Moon Cafe in Gaisano Tabunok. “I believe that there are a lot of talents here that just needed to be tapped.”
Talisay takes pride for its rich tradition in the so-called sweet science, having minted at least four world title-holders in the likes of Frank Cedeño, Bernabe Villacampo, Eric Chavez and Rolando Pascua.
The group also aims to revolutionize boxing promotion in the Queen City of the South. “We will look at every small details in every promotion we will put up. We want to make it a truly entertaining event for the fans to enjoy and relish,” said Buño.
