Majority of the Cebuano tankers seeing action are from the University of San Carlos including the multi-titled Loren Dale Echavez together with her siblings Alex and Ara Denise.

Also from USC are Jebb Cane, Cynthjune Goden, Ray Lister Tungala, Keith Ocampo, Rozelle and Bianca Diaz and Gervilyn Cadimas.

The other Cebuano bets include University of San Jose-Recoletos’ Kaitlyn Capacio and John Beltran;, St.Theresa’s College’ Jorgina Cane and Patricia Loren, and Gian Gonzaga of Maria Montessori.

They were accompanied by their coaches Tito Bonilla of USC, Jess Suerte of USJ-R and Conrad Ceballos of Ma. Montessori International School.

“Our objective is to increase participation in swimming by Filipinos on the grassroots level and support talented athletes by getting them to participate in international competitions,” said ASAP president Luz Arzaga-Mendoza.

“This is a big group of more than 50 swimmers. If I’m not mistaken this is the biggest delegation ever sent internationally since I was with swimming. We’re happy to have a fairly good representation since the swimmers come from different regions,” added Mendoza. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
