CEBU, Philippines - More than P60,000 in cash prizes will be given away to the winners of the first Tourism Fun Run dubbed as “Go for Green!” on November 29 at the Asiatown IT Park grounds.
The champion in the 10K category will take home P7,000, while the second and third placers will pocket P7, 000 and P5, 000, respectively.
Exciting freebies will also be raffled off including three roundtrip tickets to Bangkok , Thailand courtesy of Philippine Airlines, Seoul, South Korea via Cebu Pacific and Hong Kong through Cathay Pacific.
As an added treat, the top 10 runners will get a chance to experience an eco-adventure at the Talima Marine Sanctuary as Island Banca Cruises will take the group for snorkeling and fish feeding.
“With the very enticing prizes that we will be giving away, we’re optimistic that we could afford to gather massive participation from running enthusiasts,” said project director Hembler Mendoza.
“This is our first time to hold a fun run. We can still go through a wider reach. This is just the beginning for a bigger and brighter future for Eco-Fun Run. This aims to gather the running enthusiasts and encourage the new ones to make this event a part of their regular exercise routine. The project has successfully gathered the travel and tourism practitioners to participate by soliciting various tourism services,” said Cebu Tours and Travels Association (CTTA) president Cookie Chan.
Aside from the regular 10K race, the other categories to be featured are the 5K and 3K in both men and women’s divisions.
Entry fee is pegged at P180 inclusive of race packet consisting of a Go for Green! singlet, race number and official race route.
