"Run for Ondoy" a 'Double Up' event

CEBU, Philippines - Like the popular reality television show, the "Run For Ondoy Victims" spearheaded by the Run For Sight Foundation of Dr. Yong Larrazabal this Sunday at the Cebu Doctors' University in Mandaue will also be a "Double Up" event.

This is mainly because whatever proceeds the organizers will generate from the event, it will be doubled by the Cebu Doc Group of Hospitals and University courtesy of its kind-hearted president Dr. Potenciano Larrazabal, Jr.

With that, the organizers are hoping that many fitness buffs will show up not necessarily to run but to jog or walk for a noble cause.

Aside from doubling up the funds raised, the race is a "Double Up" for everyone who will join as they will aim the health benefits of running and this could also be their own way of thanksgiving that Cebu has been spared by the wrath of typhoon Ondoy three weeks ago.

For those who can’t join the run, one can have a “double” by sponsoring a runner in the footrace.

Snacks will be provided after the run.

Net the proceeds of the undertaking will be turned over to "Sagip Kapamilya Foundation" of ABS-CBN. The participants are also encouraged to bring other donations such as used clothings and canned goods among others. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (FREEMAN NEWS)
