Fastball trounces Phillies in Slo-Pitch softball event

CEBU, Philippines - Team Fastball proved too hot to handle for the International Phillies, dealing the latter with an 8-1 whipping in Part I of the 2009 Cebu Slo-Pitch Softball Tournament Series at the Aboitiz Sports Field in the Mandaue reclamation area.

During the final game of the day, Fastball of Jesse Bernad started with a 1-0 run until the expats tied the game at the upper fourth inning.

Not wanting to be on a dangerous situation, Fastball stepped up by scoring two runs in the fifth and five more runs in the sixth canto, leaving the International Phillies in the dark groping for form the rest of the way.

In the other match of the event sponsored by 102.7 Easy Rock, Los Bandidos pounded Team Korea.

Meanwhile, Jesse Bernad, owner and general manager of Fastball Batting Cages, said Part 2 of the Slo-Pitch tilt will be held in December. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
