Bostolits whacks St. Vincent in Saturday Club hoop
CEBU, Philippines - The Rey Petiluna-skippered Bostolits squad drubbed the undermanned St. Vincent, 134-118, to advance into the quarterfinal round of the Saturday Club basketball tournament at the Quiot Sports Complex.
The victory was Bostolits’ eighth in 11 games.
St. Vincent enjoyed a hairline lead after the first period, 47-46, but Bostolits caught fire in the second canto to snatch the driver’s seat at the turn, 66-62.
Petiluna tossed 17 of his 32 points in the fiery fourth-quarter uprising. Budak Tantiado chipped in 21 points for Bostolits, while Danny de la Peña and Eddie Roma added 16 markers apiece.
Fury Trazona exploded with 41 points for St. Vincent. Arnold Sevellejo banged in 32 points but fell short in the end as they absorbed their seventh defeat in 11 games.
