Worldwide Steel now 5-0 in SHABA

CEBU, Philippines - Worldwide Steel coasted to its fifth straight win in as many games at the expense of Echo Appliance, 48-41, in the 14th Sacred Heart Alumni Basketball Association (SHABA) season at the old Sacred Heart School-Jesuit gym along General Maxilom Avenue, this city.

Jeremy Huang had 19 points as Worldwide Steel tightened its grip of the overall lead with an immaculate 5-0 slate.

Echo Appliance, on the other hand, dropped to second place in a tie with Pier One and Wildcats with similar 4-1 win-loss cards.

Pier One got its fourth win after crushing New US Remnants, 78-51, while the Wildcats pulled off a 60-56 triumph over Progressive Automart.

In the overall standings, Savers Home Depot is at third spot with a 3-1 win-loss mark followed by Gaisano Capital and Kia Motors (3-2), and Dynast and Mt.Zion/Villa Shipping (1-3).

Ed Macasling nailed a buzzer-beating triple to power Kia Motors past Dynacast, 67-65, while Gaisano Capital proved too much to handled for Mt.Zion/Villa Shipping, 75-38. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol   (THE FREEMAN)
