Our Lady of Fatima keeps lead in Saturday Club hoop

CEBU, Philippines - The Our Lady of Fatima dribblers hacked out a 112-108 win over the undermanned J-Man Pioneers to take the solo lead in the Saturday Club 2009 First Conference basketball tournament at Quiot Sports Complex.

Glen Birao nailed a team-high 31 points for the Our Lady of Fatima, which improved its win-loss record to 6-1. He was ably backed up on the offensive end by Lito Navarro and Rey Jumamel with 17 markers, respectively.

Nonoy Sausa paced the Pioneers with 34 points spiked with a league record 10 triples.

Earlier, the St. Vincent used a spirited 37-22 rally in the windup to turn back CHELL, 102-90.

Fury Tarazone posted 26 points and ex-CIT Wildkitten Jumie Ararao had 25 for St. Vincent.Larry de la Peña donated 18 points.
