Twin WBO title fights in Naga tonite

-

CEBU, Philippines - Explosive fistic action returns to the southern portion of Cebu with two WBO regional titles at stake in the "Saga in Naga 3" boxing extravaganza starting at 5 pm today at the Naga Sports Complex.

Jason Egera and Petch Kokietgym will not only figure in a grudge rematch, they will also clash for the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific super flyweight title in the main event of the slambang show presented by SGG Sports Promotions of international promoter Sammy G. Gello-ani and Kokietgym of Thailand.

Egera prevailed over Kokietgym by split decision during their first encounter last May 28 at the Cebu Coliseum.

In the supporting main event, Rey Labao shoots for the WBO Asia-Pacific junior lightweight championship when he goes up against Jesus Muzaka Singwancha, a native of Democratic Republic of Congo who now resides in Thailand.

Veteran slugger Federico Catubay, on the other hand, seeks no less than vengeance as he mix it up with Pramaunsak Pohsuwan of Thailand. The two warriors met four years ago, with the Thai power-hitter emerging victorious.

In a special attraction set for six rounds, Jonghwa Lee of South Korea will collide with Andy Seneres.

The rest of the undercard covers a total of seven swashbuckling bouts that will surely thrill the spectators to the bones. The entire card will be broadcast live via satellite to Thailand and other neighboring Asian countries.

Tickets are reasonably priced at P30 for general admission, P50 for upperbox, and P100 for ringside.   (THE FREEMAN)
