Mandaue-B, Rich Media advance into JBA hoop final

CEBU, Philippines – The Mandaue Jaycees-B of Joey Cal turned back the Uptown Jaycees Foundation of Dr. Boy Te, 83-61, while Rich Media/Sherilin Plastic of Richard Mercado and Jeremy Huang plastered Mandaue Jaycees-A, 76-60, to set up a final showdown in the Jaycees Basketball Association (JBA) 2009 First Conference at the Benedicto College gym in Mandaue City.

The Mandaue-B jumped off to an impressive 22-8 start and was unstoppable the rest of the way en route to a 22-point demolition.

Dindo Cortes led Mandaue-B with 15 points, even as five others submitted double figures.

Chris Sta. Maria topscored for Uptown Jaycees with 17 points.

Sherilin Plastic/Rich Media, on the other hand, had a sluggish start resulting into an early 12-17 deficit, but rallied back in the second canto to grab the lead at halftime, 30-29, for good.

Power forward Beboy Potencioso spearheaded Rich Media with 15 points, while Jazon Jae Estella and Huang added 12 markers apiece.

Edgar Colina finished with 15 points for Mandaue-A followed by ex-USC Warrior Nestol Patindol with 12.
