CEBU, Philippines - ALA Stable mainstays Rocky Fuentes (24-6-2, 14KOs) and Mark Gil Melligen (10-3-1, 3KOs) pounded out contrasting victories over separate foes in Saturday's Summit Natural Drinking Water Fight Night Boxing.

Fuentes pulled off an impressive second round stoppage of Boholano journeyman Allan Ranada (7-21-1), while Melligen punched his way to a unanimous decision victory over former WBC International bantamweight champion Roger Galicia (23-10-4, 7KOs) of Mandalu-yong's Tiger City Gym.
According to a report by phil-boxing.com, Fuentes battered Randa with punishing left hooks and then followed it up with energy-sapping body shots that snuffed the air out of Ranada's nose at 2:25 of round two.
Melligen, on the other hand, flattened Galicia in the first round, but could not finish off his durable foe outright.
Galicia put up a courageous stand for most of the 10-round battle, but Melligen was more decisive and landed quality hit on the way to a unanimous decision win. The officials scores were 96-93, 97-92 and 98-91.
In the other bouts, Jun Intor defeated Roldan Malinao by UD, Marjhun Macahilig overcame a first round knockdown to turn back Michael Espinosa by unanimous verdict, Powell Balaba prevailed by split decision over Leo Torres, Jomar Cordinillo tamed JR Salvador by UD, while Jherpol Valero subdued Melchor Abcede also by unanimous deci-sion. – THE FREEMAN
