MetroSports Fun Run series to blast off on July 19

CEBU, Philippines - MetroSports Center in Brgy. Lahug spearheads its version of Fun Run series starting on July 19. I will be staged for four consecutive Sundays until August 9.

The activity kicks off at 5:30 am starting at the MetroSports Center up to its destination point, the Café Glo Restaurant at the 2nd floor of Crown Regency Hotel & Towers along Osmeña Boulevard.

Participants largely come from the official members of Metrosports Badminton Club, its loyal sports buffs and patrons, friends, relatives and kin, as well as a number of employees of both the club and the hotel.

According to J. King & Sons Co., Inc. CEO Richard King, this is the company’s way of promoting fitness and wellness not only from within the company and among its employees but also for its club members and the surrounding communities as well.

The beneficiary of this Fun Run is the Cebu City Task Force for Street Children under the care of Cebu City First Lady Margot Osmeña.

“We are extremely happy that we have the full and active involvement of four surrounding communities,” Ms. Christine Bernardo, Metrosports manager said. “Barangays Lahug, Camputhaw, Capitol Site and Sta. Cruz have given us their full support to this cause by providing us their tanods to man the streets and direct traffic during the fun run time from 5:00 am to 8:00 am,” she added.

Exciting prizes await those who clock in at the earliest possible time at the designated area. Also, door prizes will be given to the participants aside from the guaranteed tummy-filling buffet that await all fun runners at the Cafe Glo Restaurant.
