Berberio eyes back-to-back wins

CEBU, Philippines – Charlie Berberio seeks a repeat of his triumph last month as he runs in today’s edition of the Run for Sight Monthly Run at the Cebu Doctor’s University in the North Reclamation Area.

Berberio ruled the open category of the race in May after leaving behind Dr. Yong Larrazabal.

A big number of runners including the local and out-of-towners – those who are preparing for the Cebu leg of the Milo Marathon elimination – will be at the starting block early today.

The crowd will further thicken with the participation of students from Cebu Doctor’s University.

Winners in the monthly contest earn points that will be tabulated at the end of the year. The runner, in both the men and women divisions, with the most number of points will be the Runner of the Year.

Aside from the men’s open, there’s the hotly contested women’s 10K run that has attracted some big names in local running. – THE FREEMAN
