CEBU, Philippines – Team Castrol-Quickflight snatched four titles and had several runner-up finishes to lead the winners of the 2nd Congressman Ramon ‘Red’ Durano VI Motocross Invitational last Sunday in Brgy. Mangitngit, Danao City.
Dongkey Sanchez bannered Castrol-Quickflight’s charge by dominating the enduro 125 and open enduro categories.
Sanchez was trailed by teammate Ray Quirol in the enduro 125 as Richard Perminoff settled for third, while Kent Louis Canape came out second in the open enduro followed by Ayen Ledesma.
Sanchez also placed second behind another teammate Ryan Quirol in the beginners open action. Keith Galaura copped the third place honors.
Ryan Quirol, Keith Galaura and Dongkey Sanchez posted a 2-3-4 finish in the novice open production dominated by John Flores as Andrew Canlas placed fifth.
Jun Enriquez also of Castrol-QF got the executive A title after edging out Aloy Igot and Siegfred Ornopia.
Ornopia of Keiz BJ Racing Team, however, got even with Enriquez as he topped the executive B action. Igot landed at third.
Another Castrol-QF rider, Joel Andrin, had a runner-up finish in the executive C won by Felipe Montejo, while teammate Clark Wagas wound up third in the intermediate class ruled by Jubenile Abellar of PSR-Motofix followed by Weng Yapparcon.
Jon-Jon Adlawan, for his part, reigned supreme in the expert class over Paolo Inoc and Ambo Yapparcon, while the fourth and fifth spots went to Abellar and Wagas, respectively.
Seigfred Ornopia’s son, Brylle, collected another title in the peewee open after defeating BJ Pepito and Tomtom Largosa.
Pepito though lorded it over in the peewee 7-under class followed by Marriane Yapparcon and Vinz Batula. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
