Airsoft Visayas elims set next week

CEBU, Philippines – Fourteen airsoft teams will be in full gear and ready to battle when they compete in the Filipino Airsoft Visayas Championship-Cebu leg next week in Danao City.

Up for grabs in the Cebu leg are slots in the Visayas Championship set in July in Cebu City.

Giovanni Sanchez, one of the organizers, pointed out yesterday during the press conference at Sugbahan Restaurant in Mandaue City, that the competition in Danao will also serve as elimination for the national championship that will be held in Cebu in November.

Of the fourteen teams, thirteen are from Cebu. The other team is the crack NASL team from Negros who got the invite from organizers after they missed the Bacolod City elimination.

NASL has been a perennial participant in various airsoft competitions in Cebu and had given Cebuano teams some beatings in the past.

The other teams are Deep Recon, Mandaue Airsoft Group, Crack Legion, Team Yawcoy, Trident Knights, NSW8 Cast, SSAT, Tango Down Elite, Red Arms Stallion, Team LTD, Black Aces and Team Cobra.

In a related development, organizers of this airsoft action will be putting up a photo contest for both professional and hobbyist alike in two categories - the action proper and the sidelights.

There will also be special team award for sportsmanship and best in load bearing. – THE FREEMAN
