3rd Y101 golfest on June 5

CEBU, Philippines – It will be a lot of fun in 3rd Y101 Corporate Cup on June 5 at the Cebu Country Club.

Winning might be everyone’s target when they play, but the Y101 undertaking is said to be an exception as the organizers conceptualized it as a celebration of friendship and camaraderie while playing golf.

Making sure that everyone’s going to have fun, the prizes are kept secret and the pin placement for the hole-in-one will be made easy for the participants.

Co-presented by Arms Corporation of the Philippines (ARMSCOR), the participants are looking forward to winning shotguns, pistols and ammunition.

“This is our commitment to the golfers. We are pushing through this event despite the global crisis. There will be prizes for every participant. This is our (Y101) 30th year in the business, and so we want to give back something by making this event really fun,” said Y101 CEO Martha Tuason.

The organizers are expecting 50 teams from all over the country to join the contest, half of which are by invitation only. The rest is open to any interested company or club.

The event is a four-man team competition, with three to count for their standings.

There will be three classes—A, B and C. Teams will be classified according to the total handicap of their members.

The May 31st handicaps will be utilized, while for those without any will have to play with a zero handicap.

Tournament director Nimrod NL Quiñones said in a press conference yesterday at Gustavian Restaurant that the competition will follow the modified Stableford points system.

Winners will be determined based on their net scores.

Registration fee is pegged at P10,000 per team inclusive of give-aways and a raffle ticket.

The one-day tilt is also sponsored by Creative Audio Visual, Cam-G, Gustavian, OZ Racing, VECO, Myphone, Zhong Chen, Manny O, Sun.Star, La Maison, Kulas, San Sebastian and Nike. – Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
