Rosal lifts Mack Mayer past Arcason in JBA

CEBU, Philippines – Voltaire Rosal sank a medium-range jumper at the buzzer to lift Mack Mayer Printers/Home Savers Depot of Carlos Porras to a 75-73 victory over Arcason & Sons Construction and Development Corp. at the start of the 14th Jaycees Basketball Association (JBA) season last Sunday at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Arcason dominated the game all the way only to be spoiled by the endgame heroics of Rosal, who went on to topscore Mack Mayer with 18 points. Elmer Laguna, John Sulay and Klein Baladya, who are all licensed architects by profession, chipped in 34 points combined.

Kent Kangleon paced Arcason with 16 markers.

In the other game, the Uptown Jaycees Foundation of playing coach Dr. Boy Te survived the undermanned Mandaue Jaycees, 86-79.

Despite playing with only five players, the Mandaue Jaycees managed to take a 10-point lead at halftime, 41-31, but the Uptown Jaycees succeeded in turning the tables on them in the final half.

Jimbo Noel topped Uptown Jaycees with 25 points, while Dindo Sausa and Franco Te finished with 14 points apiece. Joseph Jayme donated 12.

Ex-USC Warrior Nestor Patindol and Edgar Colina led Mandaue Jaycees with 22 and 20 points, respectively.

In the main match of a triple-header, the Rich Media Network, Inc. scored an 89-69 demolition over the Zone 360.

Beboy Potencioso and Jeremy Huang scored 19 points each for the rich Media Network and Glenn Bisanes added 17.

Junie Alejandro and Ray Jun Trespicio posted 17 markers apiece for Zone 360, while Jayo Borromeo submitted 14 points.
