Hiroshi makes semis in Inter-club football

CEBU, Philippines – Team Hiroshi pulled off a 5-0 whitewash of the younger and less experienced Inter-Cebu FC to advance into the men’s open semifinal round of the 9th Cebu Amateur Football Club(CAFC) National Inter-Club Football Cup at the University of San Carlos-Technology Center (USC-TC) field in Brgy. Hiroshi is yet to face the Queen City United today but whatever the outcome is, they’re already assured for a semis spot with a clean 4-0-1 win-loss-draw record.

Earlier, the University of Cebu-ERCO led by RP Team member Robert Canedo posted a 5-2 victory over San Roque Football Club.

UC-ERCO along with the Queen City United, Philippine Army, and Bohol are still searching for semifinal berths.

In the 38-above class, those who have already advanced into the next round are QCU-A, SRFC and Hiroshi. QCU-B and the Armymen will slug it out for the last semis ticket.

Over at the San Roque Parish field, Davao buried CIC-Mandaue, 12-0, in the boys 17-under group B.

Don Bosco Technology Center leads the boys 17-B class, while Springdale spearheads group A.

After the much-needed rest day at Springdale, action resumes today with four semifinal games on tap.

In the 10-under class, DBTC-1 will face the Sacred Heart School-Jesuit, while Canduman takes on DBTC-3. In the boys 12, Canduman battles Springdale, while SHS-J goes up against Pomeroy. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
