Roble Shipping seizes Powerball cage crown

CEBU, Philippines - Roble Shipping of George Uy outlasted Unilink Shipping of skipper Paul Quiñanola, 95-87, in the deciding match of their best-of-three finals series to clinch the championship of the Sunrisers/Powerball Friendship Cup 2009 at the CEC gym.

Behind the sizzling hot tandem of Louie Navarro and Albert Anado, Unilink Shipping controlled the first three quarters and took a 15-point lead, 75-60, heading into the final 10 minutes of the contest.

However, Roble Shipping staged a blistering 35-12 rally in the windup to sink Unilink Shipping in come-from-behind fashion.

John Carpio paced Roble Shipping with 39 points followed by Theogene Lim with 15 markers. Gary Maquilan chipped in 13 points, Jingjing Rama knocked in three triples of his 11 points and team owner George Uy donated 10 points.

Navarro led Unilink with 23 points followed by Anadon with 19.
