Riverside, Eryangs score in 'Lacion caging

-

CEBU, Philippines – Riverside and Eryangs pounded their respective opponents in the Inter-Sitio Barkadahan Basketball Tournament in Poblacion Oriental, Consolacion.

Riverside banked on a sizzling offensive in the middle quarters to dispatch Quiapo Compound, 78-66, while Eryangs waltzed through an 86-77 disposition of Villacon, 86-77.

Riverside was ahead by just a hairline early on, 15-14, but staged a searing 21-10 run in the second canto to mount a dozen-point advantage at the intermission, 36-24.The Riverside cagers were not done from there as they unloaded their second wave of deadly attack, 26-15, to tear the game apart with an imposing 23-point lead, 62-39, going into the final quarter. Quiapo Compound failed to come out of that deep hole to suffer its first taste of defeat.

Supported by the entire barangay council of Poblacion Oriental under the leadership of Brgy. Capt. Melquides Caylan, the Inter-Sitio league is supervised by commissioner Charlie Mindajao in partnership with event coordinator and Poblacion Oriental barangay councilor Paul Alelu Q. Flores, a former star of the FEU Tamaraws during his UAAP days.
