PC Nets start free basketball training camp today

-

CEBU, Philippines - The Praise Cathedral-Now Evangelizing Through Sports (PC Nets) in cooperation with the Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) will be launching its free Evangelistic Basketball Clinic today from 7:30 am to 0 am at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Head trainor and Asian College of Technology (ACT) Cyber Knights coach Tata Merced said the clinic is open to all basketball fanatics aged 15 years old and above.

While the clinic is for free and will be held only every Saturday, Merced said the participants are required to pay the P10 entrance at the CCSC gates. The clinic had been approved by CCSC manager Ricky Ballesteros.

Merced said the primary objective of the clinic is to guide the youth and impose discipline on them so they will stay away from drugs and get closer to the word of God.

Merced added that this is just a sort of a community outreach and character building for the youth so they will learn some virtues including perseverance, hardwork and discipline and in that way, they will receive the graces of God.

Meanwhile, Merced bared that the PC Nets basketball league has already started at the Immanuel Bible Colllege (IBC) gym in Banawa.

A total of five teams representing different sectors are seeing action namely the Serlord for husbands, Cruisers Jam for the youth, Cutting Edge for businessmen, and the Connect Groups divided into the Apple Tree and Nature’s Spring, both representing bible studies. – GGM (THE FREEMAN)
