Class 2005 pins down '84/92 in CECABA cagefest

CEBU, Philippines – PTT Lubricants 2005 unleashed a furious third-quarter offensive to scorch Schick Razor ’84/92, 76-65, in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 11th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Saturday night at the CEC gym.

Class 2005 trailed by four points at halftime, 28-32, but staged a crippling 28-16 rally in the third period to grab the lead for good, 56-48, heading into the final 10-minute mark of the contest.

Kent Benedict Uy unloaded 24 points, eight rebounds and four steals, while Philip John Lua added 20 points, six steals, four rebounds and three assists as Class 2005 improved its win-loss record to 4-8.

Star center Sammy Sia tallied a season-best 21 poiints on top of 11 rebounds and three assists, while Robert Tan added 14 points and eight rebounds for Class ’84/92, which further dripped to 2-8.

In the other game, RJX Transport Solutions ’99 notched its 11 victory in a dozen games by default over the 3-10 Cebu Diamond Auto Parts 2000.
