CSD sinks C&B Shipping in Toledo hoopla

CEBU, Philippines – The CCC-CSD Builders debuted with an 88-77 victory over C&B Shipping in the 1st Vice Mayor Rudy Espinosa Cup last Wednesday evening at the Barba Sports Center in Toledo City.

From a shaky 40-36 lead at halftime, the Builders of coach Boboy Cal and assistant Dicdic Rizal stepped on the gas pedal in the final half on the way to hand C&B its second loss.

Tonight, the Builders and A&C Sports will dispute the solo leadership in Group A.

Aldrin Ocañada paced the Builders with 22 points, while Jerry Jaca and defensive guard Jared Kane Abatayo chipped in 17 points apiece. Veteran center Franklin Nailon also showed up in the game scoring 15 points.

Former UC star Alex Cainglet and SWU big man Jessie Lumantas carried the offensive load for C&B Shipping with 15 points each. Ex UV Lancer Randy de la Pisa added 12 points and former USP Panther Elvis Labares donated 11.

In the preliminary, the Blanc Blow Trading defeated the CSD Staff, 73-70.
