Galeos Cup fires off April 18 in Argao

CEBU, Philippines - The Argao Sports Commission and the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) headed by Brgy. Captain Virgilio Rizon jointly announced the holding of a summer basketball tournament dubbed as “Mayor Edsel Galeos Cup 2009” at the newly-constructed President Diosdado Macapagal Sports and Cultural Center.

A total of 19 teams have already confirmed their participation, a dozen of which will see action in the Inter-Barangay category. The rest will compete in the Inter-Town division with Argao as guest team.

   The teams under the Inter-Barangay tournament will be divided into two brackets.

 The opening ceremony on April 18 will be graced by Gov. Gwen Garcia. It will be highlighted by the selection of best muse and best in uniform.

 The Inter-Town category is co-presented by the town mayors from Sibonga up to Santander. (GGM)   (THE FREEMAN)
