Calinawan vs. Jopson in Danao

CEBU, Philippines - Gerrie Calinawan won the last leg of the Pipti-Pipti Triahtlon last week in Carmen.

The victory, however, was somewhat tainted because Noy Jopson didn’t compete.

This time, Calinawan tries for a back-to-back win in the Open Category against Jopson and the rest of the field as the fourth leg of the Pipti-Pipti Triathlon takes off in Danao City today.

Aside from Calinawan, other leg winners, the likes of Franz Baguio, Ric Dizon and Rico Valentin will also try to snatch second straight victories in their respective categories.

To spice up this leg, a duathlon competition that became a sideshow of the third leg in Carmen, will again follow the triathlon event.—Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
