Heartvit pummels Fabio Salsa in Atan Guardo caging

CEBU, Philippines - Heartvit ’93 spewed fire right after the opening buzzer to melt down Fabio Salsa ’92, 98-68, in the University of San Carlos Boys High Alumni Basketball Association (USCBHABA) Atan Guardo Barkadahan Cup at the USC-North Campus gym.

The Heartvit mainstays of team manager and Brgy. Tisa top councilor Jeson L. Guardo got off to a jackrabbit start that saw them leading by 14 points at the end of the first period, 32-18.

Heartvit unloaded its second wave of attack with finesse, 24-13, to mount a commanding 25-point advantage at the intermission, 56-31.

After slowing down in the third period, the Heartvit cagers went back to usual business in the windup to parlay a 71-51 edge into a 30-point demolition at the final buzzer.

Roy Jumao-as paced Heartvit with 29 points, while ex-USC Warrior Leon Floro “Bong” Eleazar cashed in 14 points.
