Time Out Basketball Clinic opens April 5 at Coliseum

CEBU, Philippines – Aspiring Cebuano hoopsters have other option to further sharpen their skills with the staging of the Time Out Basketball Clinic slated from April 5 to May 5 at the Cebu Coliseum.

The training is divided into two levels, the Beginners from 8 to 10 am and the Advanced from 10 am to 12nn.

The annual cage camp will be spearheaded by Rex Salvaña, former assistant coach of the Cebu Gems. He also once served as chief bench tactician of the Misamis Oriental Meteors in the defunct Mindanao Visayas Basketball Association (MVBA).

Salvaña will be assisted by former pro and commercial star Marcelino “Teroy” Albarillo and Reggie Licanda, the current head coach of the University of Cebu (UC) high school varsity team in the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI).

Time Out will focus on the fundamentals of basketball such as proper passing, dribbling, shooting and footwork. It will also take up on-court communication, appropriate defensive stance and offensive patterns and some other related drills.

The month-long clinic is open to boys and girls aged seven to 17 years old. Entry fee is pegged at P1,200 per participant inclusive of a training jersey and a basketball.
