Jopson seeks grandslam in Catmon

CEBU, Philippines – Former national triathlete Noy Jopson goes for a grandslam as he competes early today in the Pipti-Pipti Triathlon and Duathlon competition in Loyang, Carmen, Cebu.

Jopson, who races in the men’s open class, ruled in the first two editions of the event beating other top caliber triathletes in the said category.

The likes of RJ Balbuena, Eugene Sanchez, Damon Lim and Perlito Colegado, on the other hand, are eager to defend their respective titles.

The categories in this race, the third leg, include the senior 20, senior 30, masters, mountainbike class along with the women’s open, all-locals and aided class.

A duathlon competition is tossed into the mix and will feature three categories - the men and women’s open plus the executive class.

This triathlon event covers a 300M swim, 15K bike and 3K run while the duathlon has a 3K run and 15K bike race. — Caecent No-ot Magsumbol (THE FREEMAN)
