Villa dominates inaugural Badgers-Harrows darts tourney

CEBU, Philippines - Alvin Villa stood tall above the rest to dominate the 1st Badgers-Harrows Open Singles Darts Tournament at Badgers Sports Pub in Brgy. Banilad, this city.

Villa prevented Boy Campungan from spoiling his day by winning the deciding match.

Campungan, who rose from the loser’s bracket, stunned the twice-to-beat Villa in a best-of-three 501 action to forge a rubbermatch.

In the deciding 701 game, however, Villa took a double 16 to snatch title.

William Encorporado came out third, while Steve Montenegro settled for fourth place honors.

Arnel Guba and Reino Ross Amora shared the fifth and sixth spots, while joint seventh and eighth were Roy Laude and Jonathan Rubi.

The winners in the Harrows Philippines, Cebu City Hall Employees Dart Association, and Cabrero-Mandaue-Panagdait Dart Association-supported event received a total of P3, 000 worth of cash and gift certificates.

After the singles competition, the Cebuano darters will see action in another event - the Badgers-Harrows 501 Classified Doubles Darts Tournament on April 18 to 19 at the same venue.
