Roble Shipping flusters Powerball

-

CEBU, Philippines - Roble Shipping of businessman George Uy scored a 91-77 victory over Powerball in the Sunriser and Powerball Friendship Cup 2009 basketball tournament last Sunday at the CEC gym.

Powerball owned the first two quarters, 41-31, behind the threesome efforts of Vergil Fuentes, Frank Estroba and Dr. Oliver Seno, but Roble Shipping crawled back into contention courtesy of a solid defense by Anthony Cenabre and Charlie Abellon.

Power forward Ruel Sestoso threw out a spectacular performance as he dropped 15 points in the payoff period with a couple of fastbreaks aided by Teyoy Lim and John Carpio to complete Roble’s come-from-behind triumph.

Sestoso topscored Roble Shipping with 21 points, while Lim and Carpio banged in 15 points each. Jingjing Rama contributed 10 markers.

Jing Mendoza paced Powerball with 12 points even as four others finished in double digits.

Earlier, Unilink demolished Vic Enterprises, 99-83, for its first win in two games.

Loiue Navarro and Ken Adarna had 17 points apiece for Unilink, while skipper Paul Quiñanola tossed in 14 points.
