Sergio ‘El Niño’ Garcia of Spain is one of the younger golfers, who have a bright future, but this guy can’t seem to keep up with the demands of the fans and the game.
According to Amazing But True Golf Facts, Garcia was caught on camera spitting into the cup at the 13th hole after missing a short putt for par in the 2007 WGC-CA.
The act disgusted many fans and his fellow players alike.
In sports there are certain things that you can and can’t do as a matter of etiquette and taste.

Since we started this column with a small piece about a Spanish golfer, I’d like to share the news to the Cebu golfing community that this year’s 9th Island Tee will be held on April 23 to 26 and not late in the year like in the past stagings.
To make it even more meaningful, the organizers are calling it the Kadaugan sa Mactan-9th Island Tee.
The Kadaugan sa Mactan is celebrated every April 27th commemorating the victory of the Filipino forces led by Rajah Lapu-Lapu over the Spanish colonizers led by Portuguese sailor Ferdinand Magellan.
The tournament will still retain the member-guest format and will use the Modified Stableford Scoring System.
Organizers expect dignitaries from Spain and Portugal, who will be taking part in the festivities, to also take part in the event.
Last year, the tournament organizers led by Ret. Gen. Rodante Joya, the club’s general manager, decided to institutionalize the trophy for the event. The Island Tee awards trophies that have a statuette of Lapu-Lapu to the champions.
Gen. Joya said that Lapu-Lapu is a symbol of victory for the Filipinos and it is only fitting that their club honor the first Filipino hero that way.
The tournament will have three categories for the men’s division plus the seniors’ and the ladies classes.
The team with the best gross score will be declared as overall champion.
The tournament is held in cooperation with the City of Lapu-Lapu and the Department of Tourism.
I’ll keep you posted about the tournament.

All roads lead to the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino ballroom tonight for “Judgment at the Waterfront.”
This boxing card will pit Cebuano Z Gorres against Mexican former IBF champ Carlos Leyva.
Several other exciting bouts are set tonight and the best part about this card is that it is going to be held in a venue where the audience will be very comfortable.
See you tonight at the fight.
